Here at Russell’s K9 Academy, we specialize in all breeds of dogs of all ages. We offer a range of services to help train your dog at the pace and time that suits you. Your dogs are important to us, and we want to enjoy your time with your dogs and keep them safe through high-quality training. We work with you and your dog either at our Academy boot camp or at your own home. You might not expect it, but your dog wants to be trained. Happy, healthy dogs require the boundaries and discipline that our training programmes provide. With that in mind, here are some of the services we offer.

Basic Obedience Training

If you want to start your dog training journey, then our Basic Obedience Training is a great place to start. We’ll go through all the basics and start to build a healthy relationship between you and your dog. Through this training, your dog will learn to do what you say. This benefits both you and your dog. In dangerous situations, your dog will respond and avoid anything that might pose it a risk. In other situations, it means that you have more control over your dog, and you can avoid any bad habits or poor behavior. This training works best with younger dogs, but we can train any age of the dog and any dog. It is never too late to start training your dog and doing so will only improve your friendship.

Advanced Off-Leash Obedience Training

If you already have the basics down but want to further that training that we suggest our Advanced Off-Leash Obedience Training. This is perfect for letting your dog run around freely but ensuring that you are in control. This advanced training builds off the basics learned previously and is great for dogs of all ages. This includes any breed, puppies, adolescent dogs, adult dogs, and senior dogs. This dog training will ensure that your dog returns to you and does what you say while it is off the leash. The last thing you want is to lose control of your dog and for it to run away or ignore your commands. Instead, with our specialized training, you and your dog will work together as a team and come to better understand each other.

K9 Rehabilitation

K9 Rehabilitation is important. This programme is designed for dogs that have a specific problem. This might be dominance aggression, dominance-possessive aggression, fearful aggression, red zone dogs, dog abuse, phobias, anxiety, obsessions/fixation, hyperactivity, and low self-esteem. We also work with military dogs with PTSD and help them adjust to coming back from a warfare environment. If you have concerns that your dog is behaving in any of the above way or anything similar, then our K9 Rehabilitation will help. Most of our rehabilitation takes place at our Academy, but we can visit your home if the circumstance requires.

Most of the time any aggression or bad behavior that a dog has is simply the dog not understanding a situation. This can be a result of poor socialization as a puppy or other circumstances throughout their life. Whatever the reason though, our K9 Rehabilitation provides dog training to help. Your dog and you will be much happier once these kinds of behaviors have been fixed. At our boot camp, your dog will meet other dogs and learn the right behavior through socialization and communication. This is why we recommend the boot camp for K9 Rehabilitation and any other training as it is often more beneficial for the dogs.
